I can not imagine anything better than a warming bowl of oatmeal on the cold and rainy morning (hello fall)! To be honest I find it much harder to get up and start my day during those days so I need some yummy breakfast to keep me going. Well, this is the perfect situation to make this creamy, wholesome, healthy, and effortless Apple Pie Oatmeal Recipe!

It’s super easy and quick to make, all you need is 10 minutes and your kitchen will turn into cinnamon apple heaven. Plus this recipe is healthy, vegan, and gluten-free, so suits any type of diet. Let’s get started.

Apple Pie Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • Rolled Oats – you can use GF Oats if you are gong for gluten free version.
  • Almond/Oat/Soya Milk – any type of milk in this recipe works well, I used unsweetened Oat milk.
  • Maple Syrup – pure maple syrup works the best, I would recommend to stick to it.
  • Cinnamon – add as much cinnamon as you please! The more the better.
  • Apple – I love using season juicy and sweet apples.
  • Coconut Oil – for caramel apples we will
  • Water – this is optional but I mix milk with water to make the oatmeal a bit more healthier.
  • Almond Butter – feel free to use any type of nuts or nut butter as a toopping.

How to make the Apple Pie Oatmeal

This oatmeal recipe is super easy, I prefer to make my oatmeal over the stovetop rather than in the microwave. It’s easy and made the creamiest oats ever.

  1. In a small pan add rolled oats, maple syrup, plant-based milk, cinnamon, and water. Heat over medium heat and stir occasionally. Cook for 5-6 minutes until creamy.
  2. In the meantime prepare the caramelized apples.
  3. In a large skillet heat 1 tbsp of coconut oil with 1 tbsp of maple syrup. Add chopped apples and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  4. Sprinkle the apples with cinnamon and stir to combine. Once the apples are covered in maple caramel take off the heat.
  5. Transfer the prepared porridge into a bowl, top with caramelized apple, almond butter, hemp seeds, and more maple syrup. Enjoy!

Tips to make the best creamy oatmeal

Follow these few simple steps to make the creamiest and most delicious oatmeal.

Always make your oats over medium heat at the stovetop and whisk continuously.

Use high-quality milk and avoid making your oats just with water. Milk will make them silky and creamy.

Rolled Oats will work the best in this recipe. Porridge oats might give you a less creamy texture.

Is this Apple Pie Oatmeal Healthy?

Yes! This recipe is made with half of the milk and with no added sugar. If you want to add more protein in I. like to add one scoop of vanilla whey protein in the oatmeal. It makes the meal even more nourishing.
